A Passion for Building Better Outdoor Spaces
Native Groundworks was founded by Hawkins Howe with a simple goal: build outdoor spaces the right way, with care, precision, and respect for the craft. Hawkins began working in landscaping at just 14 years old, spending summers as a laborer on outdoor living and landscape projects. Those early experiences helped develop a strong work ethic and a lasting appreciation for how thoughtful design and quality workmanship can completely transform a property.
As his experience grew, Hawkins expanded his knowledge through both residential landscaping and commercial concrete construction. This hands-on background provided valuable insight into site preparation, hardscaping, drainage systems, project management, and the importance of doing every job correctly from the ground up. Recognizing an opportunity to combine practical experience with a higher standard of service, he founded Native Groundworks in 2023.
Today, Native Groundworks proudly serves homeowners throughout coastal Delaware and Maryland with professional landscape installation and maintenance, hardscaping, irrigation, drainage solutions, native plantings, retaining walls, and outdoor living spaces. Supported by a dedicated crew and specialized equipment, we approach every project with professionalism, attention to detail, and a commitment to lasting results.
